Welcome to the 58th Annual Blenheim Bull Sale.
Our goal at Blacknight Angus is to breed Angus cattle with balanced genetic
excellence. Blacknight stud sires are selected with consideration to Calving
ease, Growth, Fertility, Carcase traits, Temperament, Conformation and
Phenotype because we know that every aspect impacts the profitability of the
operations of our clients,. All of our cattle are performance assessed through
TransTasman Angus Cattle Evaluation (TACE) (some in the top 1% in
AngusPure Index & Self Replacing Index), Scanned for EMA, IMF and Fats.
These bulls have all been structurally assessed by an accredited assessor.
Quality of product has always been important and we believe that this is high-
lighted when situations are challenging. We commit to sourcing top quality
genetics to be able to continually offer genetic gains to the Angus industry.
We are in the process of expanding our Angus operation with the lease of
an adjacent block of land and are excited to be able to offer an increasing
number of bulls and be better positioned to accelerate the genetic gains in
our own herd.
For several years now all our calves have been assessed with i50K genomic
evaluation to increase the reliability of (and confidence in) the genetic merits
of the bulls we have to offer. We believe that our breeding strategy will
continue to provide you with top quality Angus sires into the future. Each year
we see the gains made in our own animals and invite you to join with us in
our journey to being at the forefront of the industry.
