Foreword

Welcome to the Seaton Farming Ltd Ewe Dispersal Sale.

The Courtenay Suffolk Stud was founded in 1979 by the late Bob Seaton. At the time, the
principal aim was to breed a good type of ram to put over flock ewes. This has still been our
aim, with the emphasis being on breeding sheep with plenty of meat and good bone structure.

Our stud sheep are part of our larger farming operation. We farm approximately 760 hectares
on several blocks. The soils range from the heavier land in the Courtenay area to the lighter
land at Aylesbury, with two thirds of the property under irrigation. The mix of the farming
operation is 40 per cent cropping and the remainder fattening cattle and lambs. We like
to ensure that our stock are well fed, the studs are no exception but receive no preferential
       treatment.

Over the years, we have met many people, made some great friendships, enjoyed seeing
different areas of New Zealand on the National Suffolk Tours and received much kind support.
Thank you! Suffolks will always be Leslie’s favourite breed of sheep!

Thank you to those who purchase any of our ewes. We wish you well with your purchases and
       your future breeding programme.

       Take care
Leslie, Ash, Anna, Warwick, Amanda Seaton and families
