FOREWORD

Welcome to our 12th Annual Bull Sale. We hope this catalogue finds you well and
hopefully by the time it hits mailboxes around the country we have all had some
rain and growth before the winter kicks in.
It has been a crazy and exciting year here at Hemingford with a few things on
the go. We are very excited to have sold Hemingford Next Direction semen into
Cananda and Australia and look forward to seeing his progeny in the coming
seasons. In addition to this we are fortunate to have been able to purchase some
additional land close by. This is mostly irrigated and close enough that we can
walk our stock between and therefore run it as a continuation to our current area.
This will enable us to increase the scale of our genetics business to better service
       our client base.
This year we have lifted the bull numbers a little without sacrificing on quality.
These bulls are all of excellent temperament, easy doing and packed full of grunt.
The line up has moved up another level in depth and quality, they are the most
       even line we have had.

There are some exciting new sires both homebred and from overseas featuring
this year, alongside a number of good proven sires. This spring we will have 265
Charolais stud females calving, giving us culling power and commercial pressure so
       only the best come through.
Terminal bulls are beginning to really get utilised a lot more, and our modern
Charolais are designed carefully to suit NZ conditions, with temperament, early
maturity, strong growth, yield and grading capabilities being important traits we
focus on building into our herd.
It is becoming extremely important in farming to focus on any improvements we
can make both financially and environmentally. The aim for any breeding herd
should be profit and a bonus of using Charolais, you are lowering your carbon
footprint, with Charolais cross cattle getting up to weight and being killed earlier.
       More Beef Less Resources!
Our entire system is 100% commercially run Studstock based on breeding bulls and
rams to increase our client’s bottom line. Our clients are our biggest asset and we
stand behind all our stock, so if you require any assistance, or have any queries at
any time of the year regarding our stock or anything else we might be able to help
with, we are always available, just give us a shout.

Again, we are really pleased to have Dave and Becky Long of Alfriston Herefords
within the sale and we are all looking forward to sharing
our hospitality and catching up with you on sale day.

       Kind regards
       Sam and Viki
       Alistair and Lissa
