There is some cracking sons by Rangatira 91, who
unfortunately dropped dead after the 2019 mating so this
will be his last crop of sons. Had we known how good he was
going to breed, we would have ensured we had some semen.
Lesson learned!
We have focused on AI sires that provide longevity on the
dam side, muscling and carcass traits, but most importantly
have a reputation for structural soundness. When looking at
growth EBV’s of imported sires, we place less importance
as we believe that growth under international feed regimes
does not guarantee growth in New Zealand feed regimes.
Remember that at Brookwood we provide a money back
guarantee instead of credits. That means that you can
bid on our bulls knowing that you’re not bidding against any
number of people who have credits to buy a bull. We don’t
think we can stand behind what we are doing any better than
that.

sale. We are now on the Tuesday and the sale starts at
12.30, viewing from 10.30. This change has been made to
compact the Hawkes Bay bull week up to a sorter timeframe.
