Foreword

Welcome to

The Grampians 2021 Bull Sale.

Welcome to our 10 on farm bull sale! It doesn’t sound like a lot
th
of years but it’s been what I’ve been working toward for most
of my life. My passion for breeding cattle hasn’t wavered in the
slightest over this period. I do it because I love it.

We have a bit over 250 stud cows to calve in the spring. From
this number we have been trying to get 50 bulls to sale. At 50
the culling rate would still be over 50%, but we are still culling
much harder than that. This year we have 37 bulls catalogued
that we feel are worthy of type, structure and performance
to add something to your herd. This group of bulls has been
mostly used as yearlings to prepare them for their mating life
and give them the best chance to last. They have been scanned
for muscle and fat. Weighed at various times. Semen tested,
had nuts palpated and penis evaluated for injury. Been BVD
tested and vaccinated. Structural assessed by an independent
assessor and had anything culled that isn’t sound. They have
only been drenched twice in their lifetime. This group was also
boxed up after mating and has been run as one mob up to sale.
The sires represented in this line up over all have done a good job.
Turihaua Immortal has left a line of bulls with strength, bone and
good temperament. He has also stamped very good feet into his
