progeny. We are very pleased with the job Immortal has done.
The other main sire this year was the breed legend Braveheart of
Stern. With over half of his progeny making it to sale, Braveheart
has left his mark. His sons are moderate, well balanced with good
tops, as you would expect with his big EMA ebv. With nearly 2000
recorded progeny Braveheart has been a great benchmark bull
also. On a performance front, we have had to cull some cattle for
having undesirable birth weight figures which has mainly come
from Immortal. His BW is coming down as more info goes in, but
with bone and strength unfortunately comes some birth weight.
On a positive our scrotal data is very good overall. It is important
to have good sized well shaped nuts, as they corelate to lots of
traits. These being … puberty in both males and females, serving
capacity, udder shape and semen quality.

Sarah has been busy this past year with her new wool brand,
‘The Grumpy Merino’. As well as producing and selling yarn from
our 17.5 micron hogget fleece, ‘The Grumpy Merino’ has a
blanket range which will be on show at our sale. We are over the
moon with the softness and quality of these products and the
      feedback has been very good.

We hope you are coping okay with the current dry and once
again we’ll pray for a mild winter. We look forward to catching
                       th
you on our bullwalk (27 May) or on sale day.

      Regards,
      Jono & the Reed Family
