FOREWORD

I’d would like to welcome you to the Midlands Ram Sale. The rams on offer are
suitable for all situations. With the lamb market as good as it has ever been and
the abundance of rain and grass our lamb producers are in a very strong position
to go forward and get paid what they deserve. The on farm lamb sales around our
region have been very positive and it is interesting to note that the more traditional
breeds are featuring in the top pens. I’m ever mindful of the effect our rams have on
your operation and to this end I wish you every success with the rams you purchase
today and thank you for your attendance.

DAVE GILLESPIE
The Midlands Southdown stud was founded in 2001 on Clifton Downs and Bankhead
bloodlines. In 2014 NJ Harrell’s stud was purchased, comprising 75 ewes and 25
ewe hogget’s. In 2018 approx. 300 stud ewes were mated.
