SR INDEX (Self replacing Index)
This is an index which takes into account the various traits important to a herd breeding its own
replacements and is expressed in dollars. A higher dollar value suggests a bull more suited to a replacing
herd.

CAL VING RECORD: The first number refers to the
number of calves the dam has had, the second number refers to the number of years breeding. Thus 3/4
means she has had 3 calves in 4 years.

NOTE
These EBV’s are a measure of production output. They do not indicate the efficiency of converting grass to
production. The efficiency of converting grass to growth does vary significantly between individuals (up to
17%) .

EBV% ACCURACY
Percent accuracy is a measure of the amount of information available to calculate an EBV. Possible change
(standard errors) in EBVs at different percent accuracy are shown below.
